My fellow Republicans,

I truly feel that the city of Goldsboro is facing the election of some candidates who are fundamentally unfit for office, never mind party affiliation. This is one situation where regardless of the "D" or the "R", we have to work together to protect the progress the city has made and the relationship it has with the County and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

I think you will be most interested and should consider voting for the highlighted candidates listed below.

Mayor:
(Bevan Foster - challenger)
Chuck Allen (incumbent)
 - He has served on Goldsboro’s City Council since 1999, currently as mayor.
 - Past Chairman of the Wayne County Development Alliance,
 - Chairman of the Goldsboro Metropolitan Organization,
 - an appointee to the NC Military Affairs Commission,
 - Board member of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and
 - founding member of the Highway 70 Corridor Commission.
 - A business owner (Allen Grading Company and Lantern Inn Restaurant).

District 1:
(Antonio Williams (incumbent)
Hiawatha Jones (challenger) https://1goldsboro1future.com/
 - A mother who has overcome domestic abuse and now uses that past to connect with others who need to find their courage.
 - Parliamentarian for Mid-Atlantic Region Continental Societies, President of the Goldsboro chapter

 - Manager, First Assembly of God Church Food Bank
 - Member of City's Commission on Community Relations and Development

District 2:
(Kelvin Maurice Stallings challenger)
Bill Broadaway (incumbent) https://www.broadawayforgoldsboro.com/ 
- integral in developing multiple new attractions for the City of Goldsboro, which includes the Bryan Multi-Sports Complex, which generated over $4 million of revenue in its first year.
 - Helped to facilitate the new W.A. Foster Recreation Center, while saving the, now renamed, T. C. Coley Community Center.
 - Helped to facilitate two new state of the art fire stations.
 - Advocate for leveraging federal dollars to rehabilitate the city's water infrastructure while also improving the aesthetics of Downtown Goldsboro (Streetscape projects).
 - Advocate for the new police and fire complex
 - Vietnam War veteran and retired Marine
 - former board member for Wayne Memorial Hospital, Crimestoppers, Wayne County Public Library, and WAGES.
 - A former finance and banking executive.

District 3: Open Seat

 - served as chair for about three months now.the local Democratic party past three months 
- Lawyer and business owner
- former assistant district attorney under Branny Vickory .
- has worked as a paralegal, prosecutor, magistrate, bankruptcy attorney, defense attorney, and now a general practitioner.
- former board member for Downtown Goldsboro
- an officer in the Wayne County Bar Association and the Eighth Judicial District Bar Association

District 4:
(Brandi N. Matthews (challenger - open seat)
Sadie Baldwin Simmons (challenger - open seat)
 - A highly respected teacher at Rosewood for many years
 - Masters of Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb
 - Undergrad degree in Educational Psychology from UNC-CH
 
District 5:
(Constance Bryant Coram - challenger)

 - Self-made man
 - former silicon valley tech-exec

District 6:
(David L. Craig - challenger)
Gene Aycock (incumbent)
 - Making streets, homes, and businesses safer with a fully
staffed, equipped, and trained police force

- Keep an active partnership with county leaders to achieve
beneficial projects
- Improve the quality of life through recreational activities for all

- Concentrate on infrastructure to upgrade streets and

Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Keynote Speaker: Rep. John Bell
Guest include Sen. David Rouzer, Justice Paul Newby (candidate for Chief Justice), Sen. Jim Perry, Sammy D.Webb (candidate for State Auditor). All candidates are welcome.

Registration is free and will start at 9:00 am and will close at 9:45 am. 

The Precinct meetings will be followed by the Convention that will begin at 11:00 am.

Delegates will also be elected to the District 7 convention as well as delegates to the State NC GOP Convention.

All Republicans that were registered by 31 January 2019 are urged to attend. All elected Republicans have been invited to speak and meet with the delegates.

Ven Faulk Elected to School Board

 

 

Following an afternoon of interviews on Thursday, the school board selected Ven Faulk to fill the at-large seat left vacant when Raymond Smith was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives. 

 

Jim Perry's Senate Swearing-In Ceremony




Jim Perry's Senate District 7 swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Maxwell Center on Thursday, February 7th.  The doors will open at 4:30 PM and the actual Swearing In will take place at 5:30 PM.  The oath will be administered by NC Supreme Court Justice Paul Newby.
